About Astrocswift
Astrocswift: Built on Jurisdiction Knowledge, Not Jurisdictional Volume
We founded this firm on a single conviction: that offshore advisory is better when it is narrow, deep, and honest about what it does not cover.
Who We Are and What We Actually Do
Astrocswift was established in Nairobi in 2016 by a team that had spent the preceding decade working in cross-border corporate finance, tax advisory, and international banking compliance across East Africa and the Gulf. The founding observation was simple: the offshore advisory market available to African-based clients — individuals, family businesses, and mid-market corporates — was dominated either by large international firms with minimum mandates far above the market's median wealth level, or by smaller operators who sold offshore structures as products without genuine understanding of the regulatory environment in which those structures had to function. We chose a third path: a boutique, jurisdiction-specific advisory practice focused on eight centres where we could develop genuine depth, maintain registered-agent relationships, and track legislative change at a level of granularity that made the advice real and actionable. Since 2016, we have structured over 140 offshore vehicles, introduced more than 80 clients to international banking institutions, and maintained ongoing compliance retainers for a client base spanning Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Africa, and Nigeria.
How We Work — and the Limits We Acknowledge
Every Astrocswift engagement follows a defined process. The first step is a discovery session — typically sixty to ninety minutes — in which we map the client's tax residency, income sources, asset types, banking requirements, and long-term intentions. From that session we produce a written scope document, which is agreed before any fees are committed. Work then proceeds in phases: jurisdiction selection and memorandum, structural design and incorporation filing, banking introduction and account activation, and — for retainer clients — ongoing compliance monitoring. The process is deliberately sequential because each phase informs the next; rushing incorporation before banking pre-screening is complete regularly produces entities that cannot open accounts. We also maintain clear limits. We do not advise on transactions with a principal purpose of tax evasion. We do not work with clients whose source of funds we cannot verify through standard due-diligence procedures. We do not maintain offices or filing relationships in jurisdictions we cannot monitor at legislative depth. These limits are not marketing language — they reflect a considered view that sustainable advisory practice and sustainable client outcomes are the same thing. Results also depend on external factors: banking approvals are at the discretion of financial institutions, and no adviser can guarantee an account will be opened, only that the application is as strong as it can be.
